How to reach?

By Air :

Tezpur airport in Assam is the nearest airport, which is almost 260 km far and around 4hours drive. You can catch direct flights to major Indian cities from Guwahati Airport too.

By Rail :

The nearest Airport is around 43 km away from the state capital Itanagar. Harmuti train station (Assam) is the nearest station connecting Arunachal Pradesh to other major cities of India.

By Road :

The state is easily reachable by road from all prime cities and nearby states. There are sufficient number of inter bus services available from all major towns of Arunachal Pradesh to Meghalaya (around 790 km), Assam (560 km) and Nagaland (456 km).

Tawang

A beautiful hilly region that still follows its age old traditions and its rich cultural. Tawang sees a huge population of the Monpa Tribes and also makes a prominent place of the Buddhist population. It is a naturally beautiful hill station which is best for trekking and hiking activities. One of the popular Monasteries here is the Galden Namgyal Monastery, which was built hundreds of years ago.

Itanagar

It is the beautiful and glorious capital city of Arunachal Pradesh. Tourists are offered many places of interest here which glorify the wonderful history of the state. Some of the best places to visit inside Itanagar are Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, The Buddhist Temple, Ganga Lake and Polo Park is of prime attraction of Arunachal tourism.

Bomdila

It is another beautiful destination within the state of Arunachal, Bomdila sits perfectly among picturesque surroundings and green mountains which are often snowed. The landscapes available here are magical and the presence of apple groves, monasteries, warm people, and pleasant weather makes it a place you cannot miss to visit. This terrain is perfectly apt for trekking and hiking expeditions.

Malinithan

It is an archaeologist excavation site which hides in it the ruins of a Hindu temple from the early medieval period. The Aryans are associated with building of this temple and Arunachal Tourism provides huge stress on this important site as it is a popular pilgrimage site. It also has Akashi Ganga waterfalls, exotic view of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries.

Ziro

On the Apatani Plateau lies another beautiful destination of Arunachal. Its tribal influence and beautiful landscapes makes it a place which is flocked by tourist regularly. Some locations like Tarin, a high altitude based fish farm, the pine grooves and the artistic craft center here are some very popular here.

Bomdila Monastery

This Monastery is situated near the Tibetan border and is also new and one of the largest around here. Also known as “The Gelegpa Gompa” the monastery is surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains and refreshing orchids of apples. In short, a beautiful monastery situated with an even more beautiful backdrop.
